We have lived in Bilthoven since 2004. As a rugby player in heart and soul, I quickly realized that our municipality is surrounded by good rugby clubs with a beautiful history. For parents with young children, it is too far to always pick up and drop off. The idea of starting our own club had been there for a while. There were also several excellent former rugby players living in Bilthoven.
In the early summer of 2012, a number of these fathers' paths crossed and we enthusiastically started a rugby clinic for children on the grass field in front of the town hall. Five quarters later, we founded our club and were welcomed as a new club within Rugby Nederland. It is still very satisfying to build our beautiful club every day, both on the field and administratively. It is also great to experience the dedication and passion of the ever-growing group of involved parents and the fun we have together. Introducing children to this beautiful, intense team sport in combination with passing on the norms and values of rugby feels very good. Seeing their enjoyment of the game and dedication on the field really gives energy!
I myself started as a Mini (U12) at the Haagsche Rugby Club. There I went through the youth and was allowed to play as a senior, with a trip to the Delftsche Studenten Rugby-Club during my studies. During that period I went through all national selections and I was Dutch champion several times.

Our oldest son has been playing rugby for many years at Stichtsche Rugby Football Club. Together with him, I have also been captivated by the game with the oval ball. With rugby, we give children the opportunity to make memories on and off the sports field. There is a place and a role for all children within a rugby team. It is great to see how much fun my sons have with rugby.
I have been a team coach on the sidelines for a number of years. In the meantime, I also do rugby as a parent: Touch Rugby training. This gives me a much better feeling of what rugby is and entails. Since 2022 I have been a member of the board and from 2023 I will fulfill the role of secretary. I get a lot of energy from making this club even more beautiful and bigger with a nice group of driven parents.

My name is Ruth and in recent years I have grown from an ignorant rugby mother to an enthusiastic (aspiring) board member. I became team manager at my son's team and my passion for the sport and for our club grew on the sidelines. I see how friendships are formed on and around the field and how players develop beyond just sports. There is room for initiative and leadership in rugby. Team spirit and respect are the basis for every team at every level. I want that for every child who becomes a member of our club. That is why I work with a group of volunteers to organize the activities around the teams. From coffee at home games to the annual opening weekend with tents on our own field.
Technical matters
Jasper van den Nouweland
I only regret one thing in my life and that is that I didn't know about rugby at a younger age. If I had known, I would have played it... because man, I'm jealous every time I see the kids play or hear the stories from the past from the others. The dynamics, the tactics, the physical but of course also the respect, fun and discipline, I wish everyone!
I think that because of that attraction I have also become more and more involved. First as an unknowing parent (Polle and Boris), since 2016 also part of the board on a commercial level and now also active as a trainer and coach. It gives me a lot of pleasure and energy to be involved in this sport and to build something together with a number of very nice volunteers.

During my student days I came into contact with rugby and since then I have become quite attached to the game with the oval ball. After many years of playing at the Utrechtsche Studenten Rugby Society it was time to transfer all the fun and knowledge about rugby to the youth. What could be better than starting a rugby club with a number of rugby heroes from your own village.
To this day, there is not a hair on my head that regrets that when you see how much joy, fun and laughter that gives to the kids but also to the parents. It remains so beautiful every time to see how you can get so much further together, also with the Stichtsche Rugby Football Club thanks to all the enthusiastic volunteers that the club has. In addition to managing the club, giving training, being a coach, playing referee and where necessary filling in (rugby) gaps, is my wonderful 2nd job!

Together with Stijn Daniels and Jan-Paul Post, involved in the foundation of this beautiful club from day one. Born in a rugby nest and from there the sport was instilled in me with my mother's milk. Always played myself and was involved in training and coaching various teams at an early age. I love being on the field and teaching our youth the game and passing on the standards and values of our beautiful sport. I try to convey my passion to other trainers and coaches so that we can also grow as a club. I support the board with everything that happens on the field
